A Guatemalan LA-based family tries to balance the Latin world with the American one.


Director's Bio

Born and raised in Madrid, I spent my high school years in the UK. I hold a Media and Communication Bachelor’s Degree, an Associate’s Degree on Production of TV Programmes and a Film History PhD (Summa Cum Laude) with the thesis Spanish-Portuguese film co-productions (1943-1949). I’ve worked for different audiovisual companies before setting up my own, which allowed me to produce and direct my first film: Música Maestros I have also been an Advisory Member of the Spanish Film Institute and worked as an Associate Lecturer at the Camilo José Cela University.
Right now, I’m a Fulbright scholar at New York Film Academy, where I’m taking a One-Year Documentary Filmmaking Program. I’ve just produced a feature documentary film, Soul, which world premiered at Berlin Film Festival 2017, and work on Españomics, a multi -platform factual project which aims to show the influence of the Spanish language in American education, culture and economy.
